What High School Taught me/ highschool advice

1. Take required classes as early as you can because it will catch up to you.

2. You will meet the most amazing people that you wish you'd met sooner, your senior year.

3.Grades are important EVERY year (not just junior or senior, so don't slack underclassmen)

4. You don't have to be a senior to be rowdy at football games, everyone wants you to be loud!

5. Upperclassmen only pick on underclassmen because it happened to them when they were the underdogs, it'll lessen each year and eventually you'll be on top!

6. Not everyone is going to like you, so loving yourself is key.

7. Go to the dances, they may be lame but you'll make the best memories there.

8. Surround yourself with people that lift you up, and are positive.

9. Find friends with the same passions as you (ex: singing, running, theater).

10. Not everyone is nice but petty high school drama is everywhere and it's best to just stay out of it.

11. Pick at least one class you'll enjoy.

12. Take the sat early and apply to colleges early so that you'll have less stress your senior year.

13. Make checklists and to do lists.

14. Never be afraid to express yourself, dress the style you want to dress, cut your hair the way you want, dye it how you want to, this is your world and you choose how you want to live in it.

15. It's OKAY to not know what you want to do in college or after, but family members will ask you very often so try to have an idea (this will mainly happen senior year and they will also ask what college you want to go to).

16. Do NOT stress over the things you cannot control.

17. Some things can wait, take time for yourself and prioritize what's important.

18. College will come soon enough, enjoy your time in high school.

19. Have a friendship with a teacher or two, it'll help you enjoy their class more (I personally have two teachers that are amazing and helped me all throughout high school).

20. You will wish high school away and one day it will end, you'll look back and realize it flew by. (I feel like just yesterday I was a freshman and here I am ready to graduate tomorrow.)
