2 Year Recap

This past Friday, August 19th, I celebrated 2 years of blogging via Instagram. Some of you have been here with me throughout this journey, some of you are new here and Welcome! I wanted to do a quick recap of the last year, as at my first blogaversery I did a recap of that first year, so here's a recap of the second year!

September: East Carolina Visits and football games, I got to meet Olivia from @faithandliv
October: Homecoming with my friend Andrew, an awesome time with an awesome guy (and an awesome jeep)
November: I organized a shoot with my gal pals and we took a bunch of pictures together, this one was one of my favorites (almost a year later and I don't know how I pulled off this shoot)
 December: Short Pump Christmas shoot!
January: Snow Shoot during our first dusting!
February: Valentines shoot, this was one of the coldest photoshoots I've ever endured but I found this pink house and took one of my pinterest famous photos during this shoot.
March: This again was one of the coldest shoots ever! I loved this outfit and my friend Cornelia did my make up! This was also the day of my first Vlog.
April: Shoot at Maymont, I took some good adventure photos and figured out how to get dressed in the middle of a bamboo forest for an outfit change #goodtimes.
May: The Lilly Dresses come out.
June: Dream Job became reality in later May and Early June!
 July: 20K!!!
 August: Move into College Dorm.
Y'all have been here through many milestones with me and I couldn't be more thankful for each and every one of you. God has blessed me so much and I love y'all!

8 Bible Verses to Give You Strength

Everyone needs the occasional pick me up, here are some words of encouragement for when times get tough!

1. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

2. Finally, be Strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10

3. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint. Isaiah 40:31

4. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all of your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

5. The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in him and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress for Salvation of his anointed one. Pslam 28:7-8

6. Lord be gracious to us, we long for you. Be our strength every morning and our salvation in times of distress. Isaiah 33:2

7. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:29

8. The Soveriegn Lord is my Strength, he makes my feet like the feet of the dear, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19

God is always there for us, he is in us and with him we cannot fail.

Pink Challenge #1

As some of you know, I've began working with PINK as one of their campus stylists. I am so humbled and blessed to have this opportunity! I love telling y'all all about my experiences with working with them and I thought it'd be cool to share my first challenge and show some pictures! My requirements for this first challenge were to shop (I'm good at this so it was simple). The next part was taking pictures and the only requirements for those was that 5 had to be on body photos, and 5 had to be on the floor, staged photos but having extra was also allowed! Here are some of the photos I submitted. My friend Clay Sperlazza shot these photos of me!

This first PINK item I styled was this Burgundy zip up! It has a white mesh detailing and some accent black stripes as well! Its perfect to throw on over a tank or sports bra and is light weight!

Next I styled this orange oversized tee that is cozy and comfy for your morning coffee!
And this purple tank with a purple bralette!

I picked out this super soft light blue hoodie! Its soft and cozy but still lightweight!

I got this white and grey zip up that is perfect to throw on in college to go to class! Its sporty but still Chic!

This is an example of my staged floor photos!

What's in my Pool Bag?

During the summer, having those go to items in your pool bag is essential. There's nothing better than being able to just pick up your bag and go straight to the pool without having to rush around the house trying to grab everything you need! I use this Scout bag for my pool bag! Its light and still holds everything I need!
As you can see, there's a few front pockets that hold various different things. The first item I want to talk about: a good towel.
Here I have pictured the Lovers Coral Lilly Pulitzer towel!
Second item: a good pair of shades (these are from target)
Item #3: a throw on tank or cover up. Here I have pictured a boyfriend tank from @bwhimsy on Instagram, this is great to throw on to go anywhere when you're in a swimsuit.
I think its safe to say I have a float obsession so I always keep one to two floats in my bag because I never know when I'll need one!

When laying out in the sun, sunscreen, bronzer and or aloe is so important. I use all three of these on a regular basis because I'm constantly trying to be tan and it doesn't always go my way.

Lastly I have this other mini ID holder by Scout that I usually keep cash, jewelry and my license in!

That's what's in my pool bag this summer 2016!

Classic Katie and Coffee

This past Saturday I finally got to meet Katie, @classickatie , we grabbed Starbucks and decided to do a photoshoot and some shopping. We started our day at Starbucks and talked about everything from our boyfriends to our future YouTube plans. Katie got an Iced Coffee and I got a Java Chip Frappuccino.
After coffee, we headed on over to Pink Palm which is a Lilly store near us, we shopped around and adored the spring sale, and then decided to hit one other Boutique before the shoot.
We went to University of Richmond to Shoot and although it was extremely hot and we were both sweating, we took some awesome photos and you can most definitely expect to see collaborations with Katie in the future!

Kendra Scott Richmond

Recently, in the mall I work in, Short Pump, a Kendra Scott store opened! It opened July first! At first, this disappointed me because my birthday month is June and they offer a discount for birthdays, so I just missed this because they opened the first day in July. I also had never been in a Kendra store so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
Initially when I walked in, I was shocked, I didn't see any colorful jewelry which is part of why I love Kendra so much. There was lots of neutral jewelry around the store, and don't get me wrong, I love a good white and gold bracelet, but I was ready to be overwhelmed with color, and I wasn't, even though that is what I'd hoped for.
I started talking to the girls that work there and realized a lot of them were customers at Lilly Pulitzer Short Pump, where I work, and that made great for conversation, I went to go to check out with one bracelet (pictured below), and an employee mentioned a special deal that was going on for the 4th of July AND their opening..
I was spending $50 for this bracelet, when I was told about this sale, if I were to spend $75 I would get a free bracelet (ft. in blue, pictured below, red and mint were also options), AND their was a discount on the color bar, 15% off. At first I thought the color bar was just kind of a toy, to play with all the options you can have for jewelry. You can play with the options, but when you come to the finished product, you tell an employee what you'd like and show them the screen, then THEY PUT TOGETHER THE JEWELRY RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU! Can y'all tell how happy that made me! I was so pleasantly surprised and ended up picking out a ring (below).
 (free bracelet with $75 spend)

So I ended up spending about $100, but I got three awesome pieces that I can wear all the time, from an awesome place, and a brand I love. I will be visiting the girls at Kendra Scott Richmond again in the future and will of course be making all Kendra purchases there in the future as well. They gave me a cute fall magazine and they also had macaroons out with mimosas! So cute and so much love for this brand and this new store!

I hope y'all enjoyed reading about my experience in this amazing store!

5 Lilly Pulitzer Stylings

As a lot of you may know, I've recently started working at the Lilly Pulitzer Short Pump Location, since I began working, my collection has grown dramatically and it inspired to me share 5 looks with you all!
Look #1: Casual dress
This is the Barefoot Princess Essie Dress, paired with white Jack Rogers and pink tassel earrings. This dress is perfect to throw on and go to the beach, run around town, go shopping and so much more. It's extremely easy to dress up or down and is super comfortable.

Look #2: Coral Top
This lavender top and white skinny's are amazing for shopping or brunch/ coffee dates with your girls, I dressed this up by sporting wedges, but by switching up the shoes, this can be dressed down quite easily. I wore white pants to dress it up, but it can also be dressed down by sporting shorts instead. I paired this brown tote and it matched my wedges perfectly to really complete the look.

Look #3: Popover
The popover is a classic Lilly Clothing piece, its easy to wear and fun to go around in. This is my most casual look and it great for a morning boat ride in the summer, or just running errands around town.

Look #4: Date Night Shift

A Lilly Shift is a classic for weddings, date night, graduation parties and more. I chose this Yachtzee Shift because Fiona from @preppynyc on Instagram has this too and she will also be doing 5 Lilly Looks on her blog (linked at the bottom). The Navy detailing down the front is so classy and a little different for Lilly because they mostly do white detailing. A shift is perfect for any special occasion.

Look #5: Adie Shorts
My last piece I styled was this pair of gold and white striped Adie Shorts. They look like J. Crew and they're quite subtle and very classy. I paired these with a pink Piko top (these are trendy in college).

I really hope y'all enjoyed these 5 Lilly Pulitzer looks, make sure you go check out Fiona's blogpost on 5 other Lilly Looks! www.preppynyc.weebly.com.
